City of Gloucester
As part of the ongoing water improvement project, the City will begin replacing a drainage culvert on Lincoln Street the week of July 15th. This notice has been prepared to inform you that Lincoln Street from Essex Avenue to Keystone Road will be closed to thru traffic while the drain culvert located near #8 Lincoln Street is replaced. This work is expected to be completed by Friday July 19th, 2024. The road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the project. Lincoln Street will be open to abutters, but closed to thru traffic, a traffic detour will be established for residents on Walker Street and Sumner Street. The City’s Contractor N. Granese & Sons, Inc., who has been completing the water project will also be completing this work.

Sequence and Schedule:

The culvert replacement is scheduled to begin on Lincoln Street the week of July 15, 2024, and is anticipated to take five days to complete (weather dependent).

The Gillis Bridge lane closure scheduled for July 11, 2024 has been canceled. The bridge work conducted on July 10, 2024 finished the project early. The Gillis Bridge road work is now complete.
